Rooms:  $119+tax per night, 2 queen size beds, good for 3 days before and after the Convention, based on availability (See Pre/Post Convention activities.) Reservation block expires September 17, 2013, but may be exhausted before then – Reserve Early!  Reserve online at  (the direct reservation web page) OR go to the Hilton website and use group code USCPFA. To register by phone call 1-800-445-8667, group code USCPFA.  There is an Early Departure Fee of one night’s room and tax at group rate if you leave before your reservation ends.

     Airport-Hotel Transportation: James River Transportation has desk inside airport on 1st floor near escalators for walk-up, or reserve at or call 804-249-105 for shuttle cost est. $35/car for 1-3 passengers to/from RIC Airport to Hilton Garden Inn-Richmond Downtown.  For another shuttle option, go to Virginia Air Link at or call 804-372-7433: $25 per person plus $2 each additional person. 


 CONVENTION REGISTRATION FEES (SEPARATE from hotel fees)  For members: $250. Non-members add $25/person to each fee category.   Convention registration fee covers: five meals, materials, bus, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) tour, reenactment at St. John’s Church:  Patrick Henry’s Famous Speech.

Pre-Convention Activities, Friday, October 18  -Sign up when you register.

  • Tour leaves from hotel lobby @ 12:30 p.m. to go to White House of the Confederacy (not accessible by wheelchair /walker) & Museum of the Confederacy (MOC). Ticket cost for both sites $11 group rate; MOC only $3.50
  • Capitol Walking Tour (free) leaves hotel lobby at 2:30 p.m., OR meet at Capitol tunnel entrance at 3 p.m.

Friday Evening, October 18:  CONVENTION OPENS
6 p.m. Banquet: Welcome by National President Diana Greer and Eastern Region President Mel Horowitz. Greetings by Richmond City official (invited); Mr. Zhang Heqiang, Director General, American and Oceanian Affairs, CPAFFC, Chinese Embassy Official (invited); Zhengzhou Sister-City Official (invited). Presentation by Dr. Carolyn Bloomer: Decades of Chinese Film History; original art work by Rose Sigal Ibsen; Dr. John Herman: Director of VCU-China Relations; Author Dean King: Unbound: A True Story of War, Love, and Survival; Organization of Chinese Americans-Central VA Chapter; Screening of Chen Defu Documentary: Flying Tigers Made Lifelong Friends (Parts 1-2) World Affairs Council

Saturday, October 19:    (7:00 a.m. Buffet Breakfast) 
8:30 a.m. Plenary Session, Barbara Harrison, National Past President, presiding. Speakers: Author Dr. Bart Trescott on Early History of USCPFA; Author Dr. Shifen Gong Fox on Flying Into History
11:45 a.m. Bus to Virginia Museum of Fine Arts for Lunch in Marble Hall, Tour of East Asian Exhibit, Monument Ave. statues. Reenactment at St. John's Church: Patrick Henry's Famous Speech. Dinner. Greetings: Tom Lisk, Sister-Cities International; Dr. Patricia Cummins, Chair, Richmond Sister-Cities; My Lan Tran: VACC; Return to hotel; Book signing
7:15 p.m.- 10:30 p.m. FREE and OPEN to the Public: Speakers: Annie Rollins, Puppet and Theatre Creator: Chinese Shadow Puppetry. Screening of Chen Defu Documentary: Flying Tigers Made Lifelong Friends (Parts 3-4)

Sunday, October 20   (7:00 a.m. Buffet Breakfast)
8:00 a.m. Regional meetings; Winny Lin of Owensboro, Ky. Panel Discussion on Understanding China in the Midst of Unprecedented Changes with Dr. Ed Krebs & Dr. Sylvia Krebs of Atlanta Chapter and Dr. Qiu Jin- Old Dominion University; Closing Plenary: Final Resolutions, USCPFA Awards; Election of Officers
12:00 noon  Convention adjourns.  Optional lunch (12:30 p.m.) at local restaurant, Dutch treat
+++Post-Convention Tours:  Sunday Afternoon, Oct. 20:  American Civil War Museum ($8/person).
Monday: Visit Federal Reserve Bank: The Fed Experience (free). Battlefield or plantation tours can be arranged
